The Sarawak Bahasa Malaysia & Iban Camp with the theme Generasi Penuai – GP24 (Harvester Generation) took place from 20-22 July 2024 at Sibu, Methodist Pilley Institute, beginning with a beautiful scene of the family of God coming together for F.U.N. (Fun, Unity, Networking). This homogenous gathering saw family groups enjoying a BBQ and participating in a lively “Kue Penyaram” (traditional malaysian snack/cake) Competition, while the working adults embarked on a food hunt around Sibu town, bringing prayers and blessings to the shops they visited. Meanwhile, the youth engaged in fun games designed to build teamwork and foster new connections.
The camp achieved a remarkable milestone, breaking records with 512 adults and 105 children attending from across Sarawak, representing 10 centers: Hope Kuching Spero, Samariang, Sri Aman, Skrang, Kubal-Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, and Kapit.
The night began with an Opening Ceremony filled with energy and the undeniable presence of God as His people praised and worshiped together. The congregation was blessed by an impactful sermon from Pastor Denis, who encouraged everyone to remain faithful in sowing the seeds of God’s Word as a generation of harvesters.
On the second day, Pastor Moses stirred the hearts of the people, urging them to hold fast and rely on our Great Sower. Following this, Serit, Jimbun, and Mina inspired the congregation with a TED Talk-style session, sharing practical tips and testimonies on how to harvest souls across generations. They discussed the importance of family legacies, intergenerational connections, and JAM (Jangkau Anak Muda – Reaching the Youth).
In the afternoon, there were 18 workshops covering holistic spiritual topics and practical skills training tailored for different age groups, from the young to the elderly. All attendees were richly blessed by the speakers who shared heartfelt experiences and wisdom.
That evening, over 500 souls were touched by God’s presence during the Night of Ministry, where Pastor Daniel delivered a powerful message about God in the Seasons of Life. He reminded the congregation that no matter what season we are in, if God is with us, we can be a blessing and bear fruit in every season, all for His glory.
The camp concluded on the final day with a passionate call to action from Pastor Pengarah, who urged everyone to become Good Soils that produce abundant fruit for the Lord. The Closing Ceremony was heartfelt and uplifting, leaving participants prepared and committed to the mission of harvesting souls for His Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the 105 children in attendance enjoyed a special program, learning what it means to be “Askar Kristus” (Soldiers of Christ), filled with fun activities, games, and lessons about God’s love.
We extend our utmost gratitude to all the leaders who rallied their congregations to join this camp and provided moral and financial support. Heartfelt appreciation goes to the unwavering commitment of the organizing committee, who put their hearts and hands into making it a success.
The Sarawak BM Camp marked a significant milestone in fostering unity among the various communities, creating lasting connections, and inspiring everyone to continue sowing and reaping for God’s Kingdom. The spirit of fellowship, learning, and the deep sense of God’s presence made GP24 an unforgettable and transformational experience for all who attended.
