As the sun set on November 25, 2023, the doors of a function room in Cannington Leisureplex opened to welcome our church family, Hope Perth, eager to celebrate 30 years of faith, love, and shared memories. The theme, ‘How Far We’ve Come,’ set the stage for a night that would weave the threads of the past into the vibrant tapestry of the present. We were honoured with the presence of both Ps Brendan and Ps Helen as our regional overseers.
Dressed in the timeless elegance of black and white, around 180 attendees, young and old, gathered in unity. The atmosphere was charged with thanksgiving as we lifted up the God who has been faithful over our journey thus far. Amidst the celebration, a buffet dinner became a communion of fellowship, where stories were exchanged and friendships strengthened. The photobooth, capturing spontaneous moments, became a time capsule of smiles and shared laughter.
The celebration included engaging activities such as interactive and team building games, with door gifts and best-dressed prizes adding a touch of friendly competition. A highlight of the night was the array of performances by the church’s talented groups—youth Ablaze, Hope Kids & Tots, and Agila Men—showcasing the diverse talents within our church community. Pastor Brendan also shared a short yet impactful message on the importance of faith, reflecting on the church’s journey and giving thanks to the pioneers and those who have invested their lives to grow Hope Perth over the past 30 years. Another highlight of the night was a special session dedicated to expressing gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who have played a crucial role in the church’s growth and success. Their selfless service was acknowledged, and tokens of appreciation were distributed.
Our church family and visitors left with hearts full, and spirits lifted. Our 30th anniversary celebration was not just a marker of time but it was a night filled with reflection, gratitude, and unity. It was a tribute to a community’s unwavering faith, boundless love, and a living hope in a risen Christ. A special thanks to the anniversary committee for their tireless efforts into making this an unforgettable event.
