As we gathered at the Olive Tree Hotel on October 28th, we not only celebrated our 28th anniversary but also embraced a profound celebration of legacy, with the honor of Pastor Simon and Pastor Lai Eng joining us. Our chosen theme, “Legacy,” encapsulates the essence of our journey as a church community. We remain steadfast in our belief that we are called to continue the good works, just as Apostle Paul encouraged the believers. Our journey is one of endurance, as we strive to make a positive impact wherever we go. The anniversary theme is anchored in Hebrews 6:10, affirming that God is faithful and will not forget the work and love we have shown Him in helping His people.
What made our 28th Anniversary truly special was not just the setting of the Olive Tree Hotel but the remarkable people who graced the occasion. With approximately 150 attendees, spanning from children to golden age groups, the warmth and love in the room were palpable. Brothers and sisters traveled from Kedah and Penang mainland, reuniting with long-lost siblings who have faithfully followed Christ.
We express deep gratitude for the servant hearts that filled the room, exemplified by the lives of many, including children, teens, young adults, and family groups. The performance, a heartfelt rendition of “这时代要呼求你,” showcased the diverse giftings and unity within our church family. It was a testament to the generational faithfulness we cherish, demonstrating that our God is indeed a generational God.
The atmosphere resonated with the spirit of unity and purpose as we collectively declared our mission statement. Our legacy is not just about the years we’ve spent together but the lives we’ve touched and the impact we’ve made. Just as Pastor Simon challenged us to invest in someone’s life, urging us to see the potential of others rather than focusing on the superficial.
