The Hope Kalumpang team embarked on a mission to reach out to children in Kalumpang who had limited exposure to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Recognizing the significance of Christmas as an opportune time to share the message of love, peace, and salvation, the team organized a festive celebration at the Mission School.
The outreach initiative began by encouraging children attending the Mission School on Fridays and Saturdays to extend invitations to their siblings and friends. The team aimed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, fostering a sense of community among the children. The event kicked off with light refreshments and ice-breaking games, designed to engage the participants and create a joyful environment.
To introduce the children to the essence of Christmas, the team organized a session of singing Christmas carols and engaging in praise and worship. Drawing inspiration from the words of Jesus, the team shared the verse from Matthew 19:14, where Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” This served as a foundational introduction to Christian teachings, emphasizing the importance of welcoming and nurturing the faith of children.
As an expression of kindness and to reinforce the spirit of giving, the team distributed gifts to all the children present. The intention behind the gift-giving was not only to bring joy to the children but also to underscore the values of generosity and compassion. It was particularly meaningful for those children who are orphaned or come from single-parent households, as they received tangible expressions of care and support.
The overarching goal of the outreach was to promote kindness, love, and peace, with a primary emphasis on sharing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. By creating a festive and inclusive environment, the team aimed to instill a sense of belonging and hope in the lives of these children. Through these activities, the Hope Kalumpang team sought to make a positive impact on the community, emphasizing the transformative power of faith and the importance of unity.
Glory to the Lord! The Hope Kalumpang team’s Christmas outreach successfully brought the message of Jesus Christ to children who had previously been unfamiliar with it. The combination of engaging activities, religious teachings, and the gesture of gift-giving, alongside the scriptural reference, contributed to a memorable and impactful event. The team remains committed to fostering a sense of community, spreading love, and providing spiritual guidance to the children in Kalumpang.
