On the 9th of October 2022, we celebrated a decade of God’s faithfulness in Hope Newcastle, which started with one person’s obedience to God’s calling to fulfill The Great Commission.
At the beginning of this year, the Lord had called us to open our arms to those who are looking for a church to call home. You can move from house to house, one city to another, but your home will always be where your family is. In the same way, we can move from one building to another, meet on different days, but the church is you and I – we are the church, we are family. The Lord wants Hope Newcastle to open our doors to welcome people from all walks of life. We want them to know what it is like to be part of the family of God, to make this place their home and experience the unending love of our Father.
Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

Hansen shared a heartfelt message on loving the Lord and our neighbors, which ignited hearts to serve. We also invited Gabriel (who is now serving back home in Hope Penang), Cindy, and Nathanael to talk about their experience in spiritual revival, discovering church friendship like their own family, and discovering God for the first time.
Being part of this family doesn’t stop at the border of Newcastle. A few brothers and sisters from Hope Leeds drove all the way here to help us with worship and ushering, and celebrate this milestone together!
We had been praying for months leading up to this event. Our prayers were answered as He filled the room and we saw many new faces in church that afternoon. We continue to pray that the Lord make Hope Newcastle a place where everyone feels welcomed and is able to experience Him like never before.
