To know God in the personal experience of His presence and love is life indeed.
“I believe that the presence of God cannot be organized but it is to be ushered in through our prayers,” said Ps. Joshua Gan during our prayer meeting before Presence 16.
Discipleship, Outreach and Leadership. This year the theme of our conference focused on Leadership as we believe everything rises and falls with leadership. Presence Youth Conference was organized again by Hope Kampar in July this year with the hope to equip our vibrant young people in Kampar town to be the ambassadors for Christ. It was truly an impactful and awesome experience as we see how God moved. The conference started off with a creative ice breaking as we were assigned into different groups with brothers and sisters from other churches. As a family of Christ, we treasured the time spent with one another.
We were honoured to have Ps Jonathan Ngan from SIB KL as our main speaker. He has a passion for people to know and experience the reality of Christ in their lives. His favourite areas of equipping are discipleship and leadership. We were really blessed by his insightful yet humorous way of sharing. Through Ps. Jonathan’s sharing, many of us were reminded of God’s work in our lives and our first love for God.
Different workshops were held throughout the conference to equip the participants with the nuts and bolts of leadership. Topics such as counselling skill, conflict management, gender leadership, evangelism and worship leading were led by the anointed and experienced speakers. We were blessed by their insightful yet practical sharing.
During Presence Celebration, the final night of the conference, everyone was singing with shouts of praise and dwelt in the presence of the Lord during the time of worship. The congregation was touched when Sis. Angie shared her life testimony and also the story of ‘The prodigal son’, praising Him for His merciful love. Six of our participants responded to give their life to Jesus during the ministering time led by Ps Jon and we witnessed many lives were changed as they experienced the touch from God.
Overall, throughout the two-day conference, our conviction towards His vision was strengthened by God’s Word. It was truly a life transforming experience.
